So, there should be drastic changes in early gameplay because you "have a bad feeling"? Seriously?

Or just stop being asshole and deal with current situation. Some have noted that this would make belts impossible to use pre-electricity. There are two solutions: 1) deal with it

[10.3] Burner inserters not inserting coal
Situation:
modded assembly machine on burner
belt with coal and iron plates
burner inserter
assembly machine creating iron gears
In that situation, burner inserter won't refuel itself and won't move coal to assembly machine.
With different recipe (science pack lvl 1) it works normally on belt ...

If I can somehow help (such as tracing it myself and send those files to you so you could compare), just ask.
Have you tried comparing this trace to normal trace?

Re: [Linux w Intel GPU] Most of the graphics missing
So.. .how is it "sortof solved", then?
Well.. ubuntu is keeping updated packages separately from "base install" versions,
so it's theoretically possible to figure out which package is responsible for your issues.
It could be the kernel driver, X11 driver, or some fancy-effects ubuntu app hogging ...

Re: [Linux w Intel GPU] Most of the graphics missing
So.. 0.10.1 works for you again, while the previous versions don't ??
Uh? No, 10.1 doesn't work, as well as 9.8. It worked before some silent update from ubuntu.
It is actually funny. I had to ditch Europa Universalis 4 because given 12.04 lack of intel support for IntelHD for such old kernel ...

Re: [TIPS] For a quick start (Give your tips)
I like burner phase, with new burner-inserters one can build factory that makes steady stream of iron plates (the basic building material), so my order would be:
1. mining pick
2. cut tree
3. build burner-miner and furnace on iron and feed it with trees.
4. mine stone and build another one on coal ...
