Re: Name change

Sorry I didn't find solution in forum FAQ or settings, so I'd post here. Can you please change my name at this forum to L32? By the way, many thanks for the one-time oppotunity to change my ingame/site name, I did it myself, worked flawlessly, and after re-login my ingame name on an ongoing map chan...

Re: Friday Facts #351 - Beacon re-redesign & Simplified fluid mixing

I'm happy you've listened to that negative feedback over the first redesign iteration. I like new iteration much more.
Interesting idea to show modules. Good job!

Re: Looking for a specific combinator setup

I made a proof of concept to see if and how fast I can do it. Edit 2: And that can further be reduced by one combinator I believe, when Ximin and Ximax are output as negatives and the logic is adjusted accordingly. But for showcasing the solution they are output as positives in the poc. Sorry for t...

Re: Looking for a specific combinator setup

Ok, with these specifications you need the following components: One S-R latch (S-R stands for Set-Reset) for each type of item. You missed my first responce at this topic after the topic start: Resource types never change with time. So yes, theoretically, I can do this with some 25 routine SR latc...

Re: Looking for a specific combinator setup

If the train has enough to meet the minimum threshold but not to deliver enough to make the buffer you want, then no, you won’t get the buffer you want. You’d need larger trains, perhaps? That's the point. One of the items I am going to need in my actual task is reinforced concrete. Min treshold fo...

Re: Looking for a specific combinator setup

If I understand your specifications correctly, then you want to unload an item of type (i) if the amount of that item (Xi) is below a minimum threshold (Xi < Ximin) and stop unloading if it is above a maximum threshold (Xi > Ximax). Is that correct? Yes, that is correct, with a small clearification...

Re: Looking for a specific combinator setup

Carrying around 400 Walls, with the chest set for 2 stacks, and the CC set for -100, or -50, will bring the train back when you reach that lower threshold, but the train will still try to fill the offloading chest. Its all in how you are using and set things up. Man, I know that you are trying to h...

Re: Looking for a specific combinator setup

If I am reading you properly, you want a global circuit network that signals supplies throughout the factory, as well as individual logistics network signals that you then use to call for trains to unload when the logistics network supply gets low? No, not like that. You get distracted by the train...

Looking for a specific combinator setup

Hello. Tried myself, but failed, I get signal flickering... I need logic setup for a train unloading spot. I have a constant combinator with various products in various quantities as signals. Name those as (I). Unloading spot has logistic network nearby, and I'm reading contents of this network. Nam...

Re: Friday Facts #339 - Beacon HR + Redesign process

I know how bad it feels to spend a lot of time, polishing some idea, post it to public and receive so much negative feedback, as I see here. Yet I log in just to add my 2 cents: this redes is terrible, and you probably should revert. It looks out of place, color scheme is wrong, it's too noticable, ...

Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction

As sad as it gets to upset artists, who worked on this change and made a big effort, I have to join those who disliked the change. At some enteties which were already standing out, like, for example, yellow inserter, I can clearly see how vibrance and brightness has gone too far. You've mentioned th...

Why is the horizontal train station 3D model turned sligtly clockwise? Or it's just a preview, and placed rougly by hand? I checked straight lines in paint, and yeah, it's turned.

Re: Increasing System Performance

RAM is only at about 40% as well Just wanted to quickly note, because such an approach can lead to a misconception: Your ram volume is used by 40%, but it's much harder to mesure, how much it's really used, I mean throughput. Believe me, that was proven many times, even by Rseding, that faster RAM ...

Re: Experienced builders' help needed.

Actually I was playing all day today, working on this single project, nothing else. First I made tons of tests, and found out, that Reddit solution, I posted higher in the thread works pretty accurately, only making some gaps if inputs have fast inconsistent flow change. Well, still it outputs close...

Re: Increasing System Performance

I didn't quite understand that clearly, but did you know about UPS, FPS, what PC parts are stressed, what to build, what not to build and ect. stuff before you started doing your base? If you didn't. I bet your base is not close to ideal in terms of how much UPS you could get with your production, n...

Re: Performance optimization - post your saves

Like update more optimized version 0.14.xx? And I dont speak about v0.15, cause v0.15 should be generaly less demanding, but this problem will show up sooner or later even in v0.15 . If I'd be a developer I'd definitly get a strong will to hit that guy... You know, when someone new comes and tries ...

Re: Experienced builders' help needed.

Okay community, I had some luck to find out this thread when I was searching for something completely different. https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comments/4u2ryl/how_to_build_belt_unbalancercompressor/ Seems like someone already asked for this 5 month ago, and this is called "prioritised split...

Re: Experienced builders' help needed.

This was the first thing I intuitively tried, when this puzzle came upon me. One splitter and two wired belts, one with gate and the other one with a signalgen. Sadly, this won't work as the puzzle requires, because the moment "gate" opens and splitter switches from "merge in one"...

Re: Experienced builders' help needed.

For me this one is almost funny... It's like a Ferma's theorem - the action is logically-easy, but the implementation of this thing may waste dosens of hours of theorycrafting and thinking.

Re: Experienced builders' help needed.

Thank you for providing your thoughts. I was thinking about pure belt-splitter setup being impossible too, with the exact conclusions of 1/inf you came with, but I was scared that I may be wrong. Past hour or more was trying to figure out splitter-belt-combinator way to do this, but no luck. What yo...
