I usually go Fulgora first as well, mostly because the payoff is so immediate. Getting a few EM plants running early and then bringing them back to Nauvis feels much more useful to me than spending a long time building up Vulcanus before seeing the benefits.

The timeline is a bit confusing when SE, the older Wube plans for space content, and Space Age are all mixed together. I think the main point is that SE wasn't Wube secretly developing SA through Earendel, but there was definitely some shared history and inspiration between the two projects.
