So it turns out that you have to have a full shipment in logistics available to send anything using an automated request, so if you have, say, 200 processing units and are requesting 300 units, you need to wait until you have all 300 available for the silo to request it.

I have my silo set to automatic requests, and my platform has the request set to the correct planet, and the item is available, but despite the rocket request, nothing.
