Re: [2.0.60] Softlock when loading mods with improper dependancies.

So if I understand correctly: in this case since the "space-travel-required" feature flag is enabled by the mod, the base game is expecting the "empty-space" tile prototype from the Space Age mod. And since Space Age isn't enabled and there's no check to enforce the dependency since it's listed as ...

Re: [2.0.60] Softlock when loading mods with improper dependancies.

Is the base mod being disabled when this screen comes up? I was under the assumption that only the offending mod needed to be disabled to return the game to a playable state.

[2.0.60] Softlock when loading mods with improper dependancies.

08-11-2025, 22-49-41.png

(Migrating this from technical help)

When attempting to launch Factorio with the base mod and the Science Group mod (already reported the issue to the mod author and fixed) the game tweaks out and softlocks, leading to this screen that closes the game. Since you aren't ...

Softlock when loading mods with improper dependancies.

08-11-2025, 22-49-41.png

When attempting to launch Factorio with the base mod and the Science Group mod (already reported the issue to the mod author) the game tweaks out and softlocks, leading to this screen that closes the game. Since you aren't able to access the mod menu, the only way to fix ...

Re: [2.0.60] Flip occasionally spiking to high usage causing brief drops in UPS

Workshopped the issue with a few others and I've managed to pinpoint the problem.

My GPUs VRAM is not big enough to store the maximum size texture atlas, which causes it to dip into system memory to cope (her words not mine). Reducing the texture atlas size to 4096 has resolved most of the flip lag ...

Re: [2.0.60] Flip occasionally spiking to high usage causing brief drops in UPS

Steam servers are shitting themselves so I won't be able to test for a bit.

For now, I've found that disabling texture streaming and setting the texture quality to low seems to have mitigated a majority of the flip lag I was experiencing though it is still present to some degree. I will continue ...

What do you want to see from task manager and resource monitor? Going to do another snapshot once I know what to show.

This is only with Factorio, Steam, and Lightshot (what i use to take the screenshot) active. Everything else in the system tray is disabled. I am still getting Flip lag.

This is a snapshot of memory and the Event Viewer. Flip lag occurred several times during this.

I've attached my up to date save.

I highly doubt my base is the issue since Flip lag was occurring before I even left Nauvis. Even now update only takes ~2.5ms.

My GPU ...

Re: [2.0.60] Flip occasionally spiking to high usage causing brief drops in UPS

After some testing in my current save, I can somewhat consistently reproduce the Flip lag by zooming in and out of areas with coverage that haven't been loaded in a while.

[2.0.60] Flip occasionally spiking to high usage causing brief drops in UPS

07-18-2025, 18-31-16.png

I've had this issue for months now, going back several versions. I don't know what causes it and it happens with VSYNC on and off. The save I attached in my previous bug report exhibits this behaviour (just disable the scrap handling setup as it was causing unrelated ...

Re: [2.0.60] Logistics Manager cratering my UPS with relatively few logibots

There were idle logistics bots in the network when I took this screenshot. Not sure how many since I redid scrap handling but I don't think more bots would've solved the issue in this case.

[2.0.60] Logistics Manager cratering my UPS with relatively few logibots

07-15-2025, 16-19-37.png

I've setup my Fulgora base in a way that it uses 3000 logistics bots to manage scrap recycling and science production. However, when running the base my UPS/FPS drops to ~30 solely due to the logistics manager using 20ms of processing power. I have an i7 11400f Intel CPU ...
