Yes, my character is effectively on the platform when travelling to Solar Edge.

The achievement UI shows it should sill be earnable (no warning sign like the timed achievements if that's what you mean) But when I go to Solar Edge, nothing happens (setting it as a destination or passing by doesn't change the result).
