Can't you integrate the speed?
I actually had this idea before to make a harvester platform routinely go into deeper space for more asteroids and cut the thrusters so it drifts back, unfortunately it is incredibly inaccurate and the system broke after ~6 trips.

It's there so you can use rocket turrets in space from gleba where you unlock them.
I would say it is more of the space progression from each of the planet, as you don't really need rocket turret until after you completed all 3 planets so if it's for the rocket turrets then it wouldn't have ...

to piggyback on this, it would be neat if the towers also output number of plants in range as a signal, optionally detecting matured plants only.

would not be viable for items, as items are stackable and it could easily inflate save size. Buildings build time/last edit time would be reasonable, as it already recorded last editing player too.

If that's the case, that should be mentioned in the description. It mentions trains GOING to the station, where including stopped trains is explicitly mentioned but not trains still in the block.

Or make quality seeds just grow faster, can be simplified to plants start with a certain amount of growth already based on quality. (To match the 30% bonus per tier, it would be uncommon -> legendary as skipping these amount of growth progress: 23/37.5/48/60)
