Tested with the "Latest 2.0.20 experimental" release, and it's still happening there.
Robot256 seems to point to a few relevant issues, but i do agree the first one that has been closed is very unintuitive, but oh well.

Yeah exactly. https://mods.factorio.com/mod/holographic_signs can do this, but would be sick to have in the base game as well, when they already added the display panels i think :D

Option to rearrange pins appear to be missing

I don't know if i'm blind and completely missed where you do this, but it would be really nice if it was possible to drag to rearrange your pins.

Currently as you go along the game, you end up slowly adding more and more pins.

It would be cool if you could set display panels text to show a certain value from a circuit signal.

That way you could hook it up to a chest, set the text to always show, and then have it show e.g. how many iron plates you have in the chest.

As far as i know, there's no way to set the filter automatically on the storage chests, unfortunately. I do hope they add that though.
If you could read the filter from those and use that to set the recipe in the assembler, you can make some nice easily configured setups.
