Why is alt mode showing the modules "inside" the beacons now?

Re: Friday Facts #408 - Statistics improvements, Linux adventures
Doesn't "global statistics" imply statistics over a globe, or in other words a planet? I thought that was odd when I was reading the "all the production statistics were global" line because global outside the context of programming is... kind of bounded in scope. Especially when ...

Re: Sharing DRM-Free Game for Multiplayer
What about steam family sharing?
I mean, family sharing the library with the friend, (so they can play Factorio through Steam) and concurrently playing the drm-free version yourself.
This kind of seems like a gray area to me, so I shall ask if this is allowed.

Re: Quality level names poll
Here is a thought. Have we actually seen any suggestions that most of us can agree are better than the one the developers went with? This is what they are using currently: Normal Uncommon Rare Epic Legendary I personally don't like the fact it references a particularly... problematic part of the vid...

Why use the hat in "m/s^2" for unit of measurement of gravity? There is a perfectly good Unicode character for superscript: m/s²

Regarding the Stack inserter and Bulk inserter name FLIP, you better do something about "inserter stack size bonus", "override stack size" and more.

Re: That feeling when you overwrote a save
If you use Steam Cloud, you can view the cloud stored saves for Factorio and back them up. Steam syncs them after the game is closed, but if you just overwrote a save and it is still running you can try this. Yes, this has happened to me too before. Fortunately I was already aware of this method bac...

Re: Flow Routers - UTU balancers without the balance
The reason why this is necessary is the whole "2 paths between every splitter I/O pair" idea. https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/911659480343805983/940452594520834078/unknown.png What would you consider an "input splitter" in this particular case? What are the two input be...

Re: [1.0.0] more trains fit between signals than the preview shows on c
What about this case? Diagonal straight rail has front and back signal positions overlapping and so the signal binding logic is implemented to choose if a signal is binding to the front or to the back. If one of those is not possible (because there is also curved rail nearby forcing a merge of diag...

Re: [kovarex] [0.17.4] Train visualization is off after curves
A very similar bug happens with train stops. Can I rely on the train always clearing the previous block? In this case a 5 length train can fit in the station, but the visualization only shows 4. Re: Friday Facts #384 - Combinators 2.0
I find it weird you chose to use the selector combinator to "select" the stack size or rocket capacity of item signals. It does not seem like the kind of procedure that needs a dedicated operation inside a combinator. You could have added these options as a new radio button next to the &qu...

Re: Friday Facts #380 - Remote view
I also have to say that I don't like the instant remote rotation. You go through all the trouble to make remote view better (ghost items, remote configuration) and of all things rotation is to be left out. It's these sort of inconsistencies that taint the experience the same way as mentioned in the ...

Re: Friday Facts #379 - Abstract rewiring
There's a tiny detail I missed: If both WireConnectors are alive (not ghosts) can a wire connecting them be a ghost? No. In that case a wire becomes real wire. I was wondering how this would interact with reach. If ghost wire between real entities is not a thing, there are two options left. Either ...
