Re: No achievements (Steam or in game) since linking Factorio account with steam
No, the swap player command does not count as a cheat. We ran it on our server and the other people continued to get achievements. And me too after accumulating roughly 200 hours……

Re: No achievements (Steam or in game) since linking Factorio account with steam
From what I unterstand you need to have at least 50% of the savegame’s total playtime to get achievements. Your playtime is stored in your userdata, which is linked to the player name. When you join with a new name, your playtime is zero, so you don’t get any achievements until you reach 50% again ...

Re: Several railgun issues, and a fix for them
I came to the same conclusion about railguns. Please incorporate some of these improvements or something similar that makes railguns less "broken" from the start.

Re: Filters on Space Platform Unload
@Romayne: Well, you could add 5 logistic groups called something like „stop stealing my stuff, Nauvis“ for each planet, which request 1-infinity fusion cell from that planet (and other stuff you want to keep). If there is any request for an item on a platform it will not be dropped.
But that is a ...

Re: [2.0.15] Stack inserters do not respond to stack size change
By the way, changing the filters using signals also does not trigger the inserter to wake up. Probably not worth an own issue thread, because it seems related to this one.

Re: [2.0.15] Inserters' wait time for full hand does not scale with quality
I tried fixing it with combinators. Basically, if the held item count does not change for 2-3 ticks, time out and set the hand limit to 1. My current solution only works partially and sometimes gets stuck until the next item on the belt passes the inserter because changing the hand size does not ...

Re: [2.0.15] Stack inserters do not respond to stack size change
I can confirm that this also happens if the configured stack size is equal to the number of held items, not just greater.
EDIT: Also, when an item passes on a belt below the inserter, that also causes it to evaluate its hand limit and drop the held item(s).
I was trying to solve the excessive ...

[2.0.15] Large Stomper despawns on belt spiral.
See attached video. Two of them were stomping around on my nice belt spiral for a few minutes (shame!). First one disappeared (did not record at the time), then the other one, which I recorded:

Re: [2.0.15] Inserters' wait time for full hand does not scale with quality
Let's called a "mixed input throughput issue". The input and inserter throughput are fine for non-mixed payloads.
Yeah, I can imagine that changing a constant to a member variable (or method call :o) in such a code path that can run tens of thousands of times per tick is problematic.

Re: Filters on Space Platform Unload
This!
But even better than a filter would be a limit. I have a platform on Aquilo that collects copper and iron in space, which is requested on the ground. However, if the ground is low on iron, it can pull all the iron down and starve the platform's ammo production of metals, so the platform gets ...

Re: Why is pollution consumption sinusoidal?
Thank you for the explanation. Pollution spreading at 1 Hz makes sense, although in that case I would expect some kind of a step function and not a smooth sine-like wave. But it's not really important so I can live with a simplified explanation.

Thank you boskid. I thought this was broken (or at least unintended), because it almost completely negates the quality effect in some cases.

[2.0.15] Inserters' wait time for full hand does not scale with quality
Problem
Higher quality bulk inserters are significantly faster than normal quality bulk inserters for belts containing a single item type. However, as soon as the items are mixed on the belt (e.g. crusher or recycler output), higher quality inserters are nearly useless.

No achievements (Steam or in game) since linking Factorio account with steam
Since linking my newly created factorio.com account with my steam account I don't get achievements anymore, neither in Steam nor in the Factorio achievement list.

Re: Display Aquilo heating value in tooltips
Very well said, thank you!
Everything else in Factorio you can calculate and plan, but heating on Aquilo is pure trial and error. Which is really frustrating because a screwup on Aquilo likely means that you have to spend minutes booting up your heaters again and maybe even fly home to import ...

Why is pollution consumption sinusoidal?
I was looking at the production stats early in the game, and noticed this strange pollution absorption of the tiles:

Why is the absorption sinusoidal when the production is not? Nothing else in my production oscillates at this 1 Hz frequency. Iron ore is the ...
