Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts
To put it quite simply, all bottlenecks can be removed by adding more of something. Bots cannot move more items than trains at distance. Period. Belts cannot move more items than bots over short distances. Period. Bots cannot move the same amount of items in robots in the same amount of space for ...

Re: Friday Facts #169 - Combat revisit 2
I'm not sure if anyone here has played Fortresscraft Evolved or not. It's on steam and its based heavily on this game. The game uses voxel design similar to Minecraft but is effectively a 3-D version of Factorio spanning 1000's of blocks deep. The game features 4 Overminds that spawn flying wasps to ...

Re: Kaspersky just deleted Factorio???
I too use Kaspersky and often question why I continue to use it as an avid gamer. Kaspersky hates anything from the internet so your best bet is to turn on gaming profile and lower your computer security settings. Leave internet security cranked too the max so you don't download a virus, but unless ...

Fluid Processing Poll for input sides
So I've noticed frequently that the oil lines in the game are very complex to setup with all the pipes running in different angles and adjacent pipes auto connecting and sharing various fluids prior to the electric pump and circuit phase. So I have decided to ask the community and potentially the ...

Re: Electric locomotives βΈ
Is there any working code for inputting raw energy to a locomotive set with electricity as the fuel type?
And is there a way to get it to consume non-burnable items like batteries that don't have a "fuel" value?

Re: End game theory and gameplay ideas
I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but choice driven gameplay might not be bad.
Think the current tech tree we have now, but sub-divided. We talked about loader's and heavy inserters, and the community response was very mixed. With a choice tech tree logistics 1 could unlock the normal fast ...

Re: Military suggestion
This is a nice idea. The idea of automation is huge and currently there is no automation of purple science thanks to having to manually acquire the artifacts. Walker type things or creeping turrets (the original idea of laser turrets with legs) is actually not a bad start. Power is obviously a ...

Re: Poll: Loader vs. Heavy-Inserter
The loader is a tool that would be useful in situations where more throughput is needed than inserters can provide. an assembly machine setup for red science even usually only allows to export the iron gears from 1 side giving a slot for at best, 3 fast inserters. The loader on the other hand ...
