When an assembler that has a recipe that takes a liquid ingredient is connected to the correct pipeline, it takes some liquid out of it.
Removing that assembler pushes the liquid back into the pipeline, same if you open the assembler and manually change the recipe.

Thinking about it a bit more, there's the case of holding the same item as the one being hovered over. In this case the general information would be redundant.
