I got curious and so I launched a single fish into a rocket silo and launched the rocket to a stationary platform above Nauvis. I didn't notice anything unexpected. What is this special behavior?

Does it matter if you drop the excess items to the Planet, or can you live with throwing them Overboard?

You can use a Combinator Contraption to read the contents of the Platform Hub, and the Location of the Platform in Space. When the Platform is in-transit (so, not waiting at a Planet for ...

Shift-leftclick on a stack will move it to the trash, which will be dropped if the platform is in orbit. How do you drop auto-requested construction items from a space platform?

I'm making my science on Vulcanus (I've found a nice lake in Nauvis where I do research and I don't bother with biters that way). I ship the science with a lot of space platforms. When I need to expand and research faster, I must make more platforms that ship science.

So how do I make e.g. 10 ...

The problem isn't the bots themselves but which rocket silos are chosen to translate the orbital logistic requests into ground logistics requests; there doesn't seem to be any smarts to it.


Ah... That is unfortunate. I'll cut off the two networks I guess... I do this on every other planet ...

I got 1 platform per item transported between 2 planets. Its very easy to make the logic work then, it just costs more materials to get the platforms up.


Curious, how many platforms you end up with doing this?


Ugh I dunno, prolly less than 20 for material hauling. Usually they deliver 5 ...

I got 3 space mining platforms above Aquilo (and a ton of various productivities researched). They work fine, designing them was way more fun than designing my other space miners.

I do plan from the start, leaving space to grow bits where more production is needed. Unfortunately I always run into space issues sooner or later, then I have to remake the factory.

Today's update (2.0.43) might be the fix for this. Something about the Asteroid spawn depending on everything else that happens first, it sounded like they made the asteroid spawning more important to fix it or something.


Hmmm I think this will help analyzing what is wrong with the platforms ...
