Re: Friday Facts #432 - Aquilo
So, the more I think about the heat mechanics, the more it doesn't sit right with me. From a real world physics point of view, it's about the worst possible solution to the problem: "My machines keep freezing, should I modify the design to include a simple and efficient electric heating element ...

Re: Friday Facts #416 - Fluids 2.0
Neither new nor old system is very realistic for lots of reasons, and one can hardly say that one is realistic over other.
Here is a quote from the FFF :
The new system is a fairly large step back in terms of the "realism" of the fluid simulation in Factorio.
And? They're still ...

Re: Friday Facts #416 - Fluids 2.0
The way I see it is as a trade off.
Old System
Pros:
Interesting behavior at lower scales
Throughput feels more grounded
There's more of a puzzle challenge with the current system
Cons:
Nonperformative
Leads to a lot of awkward building considerations like needing to use absurd amounts ...

Re: Friday Facts #416 - Fluids 2.0
As much as I love granularity, considering the cost to doing fluids more realistically, and the fact the current system is so squirrely and unintuitive, this is definitely for the best.

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
In case anyone was still curious about the quality thing

I find this interesting. There at first seems little point to recycling perishables in an attempt to improve their quality, since they will keep decaying anyway. But now I wonder what stack-merge-split trickery could be ...

Sorry since it was public and not a private message i received the notification for the quotation and misunderstood it ^^, i thought you were thanking ME as responsible for the improvement in your gameplay compared to the several FFF where you ...
