Re: Friday Facts #433 - Liftoff Initiated

also pretty disappointed you decided not only to open the game up early to specific players, but decided to not drop 2.0 early so players can start to build their bases over the weekend and be ready to dive in on monday, but instead have to play it during the work week I'm not actually sure how wel...

Re: Friday Facts #432 - Aquilo

So, the more I think about the heat mechanics, the more it doesn't sit right with me. From a real world physics point of view, it's about the worst possible solution to the problem: "My machines keep freezing, should I modify the design to include a simple and efficient electric heating element...

Re: Friday Facts #432 - Aquilo

On the freezing induction furnaces. Would there even be a reason to build them? There are no raw materials (for the furnace) on the planet and everything would have to be imported. The more limited space and all the logistics make me think of a compact, specialized base rather than a megafactory. E...

Re: Friday Facts #432 - Aquilo

What you should be able to do is irrelevant, if it's possible at all to softlock yourself there someone is going to do it You can already softlock yourself if you mine out your starting patches while all others have biters on them. You can softlock yourself before the game starts by setting biter a...

Re: Friday Facts #432 - Aquilo

On Aquilo if you land with nothing then you can do nothing So does that mean you can soft lock yourself there if your space platforms gets unrecoverably borked? Well, I think by the time you get there you should be able to remotely build a new one. What you should be able to do is irrelevant, if it...

Re: Friday Facts #431 - Gleba & Captivity

Will there be a targeting logic for these controller missles in automatic firing entities like the turret or Spidertrons? Or will they try to kill biters with this presumably neither cheap nor effective ammunition? And related to as there is a timer until controll is established will it be a valid ...

Anyway... reading the heat and contents from the reactors may prove to be quite useful when you get to the final planet.

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LAN

There are multiple deathworld run through by various YouTube/Twitch that use only a single oil pump jack and flamethrower turrets wall to survive long enough to reach the end-game. Flamethrower turrets are also in dire need of a nerf. I would personally make them use fuel faster. So they are more e...

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LAN

Does the spawner health buff apply to existing spawners or only when new ones are generated? Particularly thinking about if you have biter expansion turned off then AFAIK the only time new spawners are created is when a chunk is generated so if you explore a lot early on you may not have to deal wit...

LOL bro, my group consists of a guy who has a gripping phobia of creatures with a negative number of legs, and myself with a fear of fractional legs.

We deserve equal consideration in this regard.

Good luck devs!

Re: Friday Facts #424 - Gleba Pentapod Enemies

I think eggs will be produced in the biochamber... so in theory you have to harves one manually to craft a biochamber and then with that chamber you can produe more. The issue is that if you don't process them fast enough they will hatch on your belts and thus cause damage. That part of factory pro...

Re: Friday Facts #424 - Gleba Pentapod Enemies

Just one thing seems off : the Wrigglers' feet seem to glide on the ground. Normally, when a creature has legs and feet, the feet don't glide on the ground while they wander around. The way they move on the ground makes them look like some kind of ice skating creatures. Especially visible on the de...

Re: Friday Facts #424 - Gleba Pentapod Enemies

From how they wrote it I assumed similar, that one kinda could make something like a "Pentapod nature reserve", and occasionally culling them when you need more. That said, they have not written anything whether the egg rafts respawn somehow (and if then I overlooked it). But I assume the...

Re: Friday Facts #424 - Gleba Pentapod Enemies

I guess for the enemies disabled option you could just have the egg sack thingies without enemies spawning from them? So they just litter the landscape like rocks on Nauvis waiting for you to break them open and nick the eggs which would presumably just spoil normally rather than generating wigglers.
