Hi all,
I've got close to 500 hours of Factorio logged, but all this was around April 2016 (roughly 12 months ago). Can anyone give me or point me to a summary of the last 12 month's of Factorio game development?

I'm confused about pipe size. Is copper > iron pipe? Smaller size is better? That's what my friend thinks, doesn't make sense to me.

I've read recently that the 4:7:1 ratio of refineries:light cracking:heavy cracking is not optimal. Can anyone elaborate or point me towards forum resources to reference? Thanks!

is that the ratio you use? Of refineries to cracking? Could it be adjusted for beacons next to the refineries on the outside?

You could have a smaller, separate logistic network of only a fewe roboports that aren't connected to the main system and have only one type of robot that you've manually put in them. May not work for you due to space constraints but that's a solution.

Here's a simple framework, easy to build and that will last you all game, for a fully automated smelting center that leaves room for 3x3 smelters and 3x3 beacons in between. You can expand this design easily horizontally and vertically :) I usually make 40 smelters for copper ore and iron ore as a ...

Suggest no mods for your first rocket launch. Bobs mods is great once you've done that and want a (almost frustrating) new challenge of complexity. It took me 60 hours for first rocket launch. My first factory was a mess and impossible to expand from poor planning.

Currently my game auto loads from _autosave1 so the dedicated Multiplay Clanforge server is saved every 3 minutes.
Should that be set to something else now ...

Edit: Server corrected, working fine now.
You need to update to 12.30 to connect to the server now.
For Steam, enable experimental updates
Right-click Factorio in your library, select Properties, go to Betas and select experimental from the dropdown-menu.

Found my own solution, delete ticket or leave for others
Did you enable experimental updates?
Right-click Factorio in your library, select Properties, go to Betas and select experimental from the dropdown-menu.

How do I do this? My clanforge multiplay server updated to 12.30 but I'm still running 12.29. I don't see how to update it.

They will load the last save I had to restore us to the point when I logged off.
I changed the default save location to prevent a wipe from occurring again, should save every 3 minutes and repopulate from _autosave1 if the server ever goes offline for any reason.
