Re: Friday Facts #431 - Gleba & Captivity
Interesting. FInaly a reason to not wipe all biters off the planet. Having live eggs after Gleba's tech is unlocked is a pretty cool idea for a factory design, as you will have mastered the art of keeping your production on a short shelf life, this time you would have a safety risk to your entire ...

Re: Friday Facts #429 - Vulcanus Demolisher Enemies
Well, I guess we're going to need more bug spray for this one! Really digging the new threats. Just one more month to wait!
Come to think of it... I guess it is also a good way to clear out cliffs prior to having unlcked the cliff explosives.

Re: Friday Facts #424 - Gleba Pentapod Enemies
I guess it is time to burn Gleba down.
I'm kidding, I like the design, and to keep in line with Gleba's factory design being completely different, I'm happy to see that the same attention has been brought to the defense. The stomper is a bit terrifying however.

Re: Friday Facts #418 - Space Age release date
Wait are those... laser turrets in the middle of the base on gleba? Among a number of launch sites aka the location that would probably be very important to defend and as such - likely far away from the defensive perimiter?

Re: Friday Facts #418 - Space Age release date
I think the main thing that quality is used for, is really just "I have finished the addon, but want to make a megabase" or "I want to micro-optimise my entire factory". Both of which are things you do later. The fact that they want you to use the recycling machine to try and get better quality ...

Re: Friday Facts #418 - Space Age release date
On a completely unrelated sidenote to the quality discussion going on...
First screenshot, noticing 2 things.
1: The illusive black science pack that they accidentally teased in the last FFF (and which I called out!).
2: What the frick is blue ammo?!
Congrats for the black science pack. Given ...

Re: Friday Facts #418 - Space Age release date
the whole "tiny chance for a rare item!" thing is ill. I really don't get it.
(from: https://factorio.com/blog/post/fff-375 )
The excitement of getting directly a rare power armor from common ingredients when you are super lucky is the same as getting BAR-BAR-BAR in the slot machine, or the ...

wait wait wait wait wait, those cargo attachments DONT let you use inserters on them?! Did i miss something when reading that FFF?! I really hoped i could use that to make a reeeeeeeally long space ship chest.
I don't think anything has been confirmed, but maybe they want to prevent you from ...

Re: Friday Facts #418 - Space Age release date
Factorio: Space Age will also coincide with the release of Factorio version 2.0 .... well damn... thats pretty exciting.
Factorio version 2 will be a great improvement in itself. How will I be able to split my time between version 2 and Factorio: Space Age ? ..... what a wonderful problem to ...

Re: Friday Facts #418 - Space Age release date
There is now a screenshot clearly showing the Landing Pad with attached cargo bays, yet sadly it did not answer a question I had ages ago: Do Cargo-Bays on Planets have the same restriction as in Space: Inserters cannot take items out of them.
Because I'm not a big fan of the Idea of unloading the ...

Re: Friday Facts #418 - Space Age release date
Obviously, I wishlisted it as soon as I saw the post, the wait will be difficult, but I'll gladly spend 35€ to spend more time designing horrible messes of a factory design.
On another note... Since the 5th planet is going to be cold, I am so far not wrong in my asumption that each planet has an ...

Re: Friday Facts #417 - Space Age development
Well, there was a 4th reason as well. I really enjoyed the Friday Facts, and the explanations/details in them. It is just, I get a joy out of solving a complex recipe chain, not stamping down 20 copies of the same thing. There was a strong theme in this Friday Facts centering on UPS and SPM ...

Re: Friday Facts #417 - Space Age development
The biters are nice, but they are a bit predictable after a while, so I am curious to see what the others could do.
It is actually a good thing that Biters are predictable, that way you can actually implement strategies and outposts in ways that Biters either wont attack or attack at very ...

Re: Friday Facts #417 - Space Age development
Very interesting look behind the scene. And I love the pictures, can't wait for the release date to be confirmed.
However, the other thing I can't wait for, is to learn a bit more about the mysterious new "military targets". The bitters are nice, but they are a bit predictable after a while, so I ...

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
I mean more in terms of permanent benefits. What I consider a permanent benefit is for example, Vulcanus' infinite supply of stone, iron ore and copper ore. The utility of that is that if you were to run out of iron, copper, or stone on Nauvis, and somehow couldn't get to a nearby patch right ...

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
The spoilable science packs actually make me wonder whether building labs is going to only be possible on Nauvis in the expansion - otherwise it doesn't seem like it would be viable to build them anywhere other than Gleba to minimize spoilage. It would also give your Nauvis base a reason to still ...

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
Spoilage without refrigeration? Curious. Haven't the devs heard of salt, or one of the countless chemical preservatives/anti oxidants/inert gases/raw radiation that serve to stifle bacteria and organic decay?
That would mean spoilage is just a problem with a straight forward solution ...

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
Tiny feedback: the icon for the planet in the friday facts is missing the science pack, unlike the friday facts on the Vulcanus and Fulgora mechanics.

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
How is this concept functional together with quality? I'm not sure if it is a good idea to have items with different quality and changing durability at the same time. In my opinion it is overcomplicated.
Considering quality isn't mentioned in the post, I am guessing that all spoilable items ...

Re: Friday Facts #414 - Spoils of Agriculture
Anyway, my point remains, asside from expanding your ressources, I do wonder if Gleba will bring something else than just the bioflux and carbon fiber (Which are going to be this planet's main export, just like Vulcanus gets Tungsten, and Fulgora gets Holmium) in the same sense that the other ...
