This seems like a good compromise. Small, local setup will just work, with no fiddling about.
Only once you get bigger do you have to start thinking about mechanics and flow restrictions.

Re: Friday Facts #425 - Behind the legs
So regarding the twitching/jerking: that's my bad. The video I uploaded to FFF actually contained a bug that was later fixed, but I had forgotten this fact at time of writing. If you're curious what the Spidertron movement looks like now, I uploaded it here: https://cdn.factorio.com/assets/img/blog...

Re: Friday Facts #425 - Behind the legs
My take on the new animation: Looks great on the pentapods, with their more fixed anatomy. Looks a little wild on the spidertron. In the old animation, the spidertron relies heavily on the "stretch" of its upper legs for movement, and doesn't bend its knees much. It flexes at the hip and s...

Re: Friday Facts #424 - Gleba Pentapod Enemies
The first thing while reading the pollution part: I would try to put all production to gleba, because pollution is not of a concern here - am i missing something? Not at all, with no pollution, put it all on Gleba. The enemies only care about how big your farming operation is, not your factory. Don...

Re: Friday Facts #424 - Gleba Pentapod Enemies
I think the first mod I get will be a change to the models Devs, please consider a 'pentaphobia mode' those things are disturbing and creepy and viscerally disgusting like I had to close the window because they were that icky and I say this as someone who loves spiders These could trigger arachnoph...

Re: Friday Facts #424 - Gleba Pentapod Enemies
I expect the need for eggs will be handled similarly to creep in Krastorio 2. In K2, the biter nests spawn creep around them, and you need to harvest the creep in order to make military science. But after only 2-3 techs, you can research the ability to create creep automatically in your factory, usi...

Re: Friday Facts #422 - Tesla Turret
The two ideas I've seen thrown around that sound great: 1) Let this turret recharge bots. Just think of a cloud of discharged bots flying past one of these, then ZAP! The whole cloud gets a hit from the turret and zip away at full speed again. Great to have a few scattered about in high bot use area...

especially useful if Fulgora is your first planet Oh ho? What's this? Do we get to choose which planet we start on? Or is it a "choose which planet you expand to first" kind of thing? Very interesting .... You start on Nauvis. Once you tech up to flying to other planets, you will have Vul...

Re: Friday Facts #417 - Space Age development
Hi, I have a doubt, I realy don't remember if it was said or not on some FFF. I know on some FFF said the SE will be more like a mod and you can play the base game or the SE, but the QOL and other things will be on the 2.0 base game to improve the game quality. My doubt is: For the 2.0 base game, t...

Re: Friday Facts #416 - Fluids 2.0
I'll admit I'm puzzled by some of the reactions to this: 1) Many people are saying it would let you just build long pipelines or giant systems. But you can do that now - it works fine every time I've done it. How far are you trying to go? Because I've gone pretty far without issue. 2) People are com...

Re: Friday Facts #416 - Fluids 2.0
It seems much of the objection to the new system is the fact that it makes long distance pipes a thing. More of a thing, anyway. You can already build long pipelines using intermediate pumps. I've done it myself to get an initial oil field up before I'm fully on trains. The new system just removes t...

Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure
Looks great! I like the idea of a giant scrap pile to dig up and sort, sort, sort. The lightning storms hitting at night and being used for power is a funny reverse solar setup. How long do things take to sink into the sands? Is it instant or non-buildable terrain, or could we run a temporary steeri...

Re: Friday Facts #388 - Smaller things for 2.0
I feel the same way, if you visually improve the placement of underground belts and pipes then I would have expected something like this, where the maximum range is painted directly on the ground as long as the cursor with the counterpart is on the same line. https://i.imgur.com/qZ8cdHX.jpg Had alr...

Re: Friday Facts #388 - Smaller things for 2.0
It has been noted over on Reddit that there appears to be a very interesting unmentioned detail here - check out the screenshot in the "Save sorting" section. The image preview of that save shows part of what appears to be a cracking setup. Two fluid inputs, one fluid output - but check ou...
