Oh right, I didn't realize that but that makes perfect sense.
I don't know how to mark my post as no-bug or resolved though, or should I just remove it?

Observed result: Fast inserter stops inserting items in a cargo wagon that has set inventory filters and an inventory limit even though the stack of said item is not filled.
Expected result: Inserter keeps going til the stack is filled up.

Manual install of update failure
I am using arch linux and installed factorio as a package.
I realized this would cause issues for auto updates since binary will be in /usr/bin and data in /usr/share/factorio and those locations are owned by root.
Using chown I could get around this for the update but I got into unexpected issues ...
