Re: Friday Facts #432 - Aquilo

So, the more I think about the heat mechanics, the more it doesn't sit right with me. From a real world physics point of view, it's about the worst possible solution to the problem: "My machines keep freezing, should I modify the design to include a simple and efficient electric heating elemen...

A captured nest should be tremendously aggravating to biters, who should send continuous streams of biters to attempt to rescue their comrades.

Re: Friday Facts #430 - Drowning in Fluids

The sheer amount of new items and gameplay mechanics makes me think you’ve got a heckuva balancing challenge on your hands. All the private LAN parties will have helped spot issues, but I bet when 2.0 is released to the masses, and you suddenly have millions of players exploring the design space, so...

Re: Friday Facts #426 - Resource search & Assembler GUI improvements

Wondering if "negative quality" could be integrated with damage. So it would be possible to overcrank an assembler with speed modules to make it produce slightly-damaged outputs, for items that can be damaged.

I would just like to say to the Factorio devs: PLEASE don't compromise your artistic vision by pandering to the absurd safetyism of incredibly niche phobias. There is a huge difference between "I don't like spiders/holes" and having an actual clinical disability that would be reasonable t...

Re: Friday Facts #423 - Research info tooltip & Online players GUI

Speaking of feature creep, I'd love to have multiple viewport GUI windows open, centred on locations of your choice. A bit like how in OpenTTD you can have lots of little windows open showing different areas of the map, or tracking a train. It would be perfect for a multi-monitor setup (speaking of ...

Clarkson’s Factory!

I really hope you push the boat out with the tree harvesting animations - a great big mechanical claw strip-ripping the trees into stumps, one branch at a time.

Re: Friday Facts #411 - All about asteroids

I would like to suggest the devs take a look at the game Super Stardust running on an Amiga in the 1990s. That had awesome looking asteroids considering how little compute & memory were available. Ray traced sprites, I believe.

As always I appreciate the effort that has gone into this, but I have to say the end result looks a little... busy?

Also, has it been explained how movement between planets will work, as in how much time will the platform be moving for?

Re: Friday Facts #410 - Rocket turret & Target priorities

The way you describe it makes it sound like the priority setting will have a “right” answer. Like, why would you ever not want to target only the big asteroids in space, if it’s always more efficient to shoot the smaller ones some other way? Game features are better / more interesting when there are...
