Well, I figured it out. It was the sprite resolution setting. My laptop can handle medium but not high. Which it says in game (I only have 2GB VRAM). Angels mods for 0.16 have big changes: Nodules were removed and you can instead create geodes. For seablock it will get really hard, because nodules were great for mineral sludge. That's a real pity. I thought the nodules gave a nice added complexity to the modpack, especially since it adds progres...

I had an excess of crystal slurry and the rest went to making mineral sludge... but yes if you value sulfuric acid more than mineral sludge then you would have no way to deal with geodes. I like the idea of making crushed stone out of geodes personally. Sulfuric acid can be produced with the sulfur...

Over 100 hours in I really like the modpack, although there are quite some things that could be improved. However the thing I'm struggling with at the moment is geodes. It seems to be pointless to do anything with them: -when you go the crushing route you can eventually refine them to polished gems....

I couldn't find a blueprint for an early game setup. So I made one myself! Includes a mall of most items you'll need before you change to electric furnaces. I personally think belts are the way to go for high throughput over medium distances. If you have to transport 3 blue lanes worth of iron over 100 tiles I'd stick to belts instead of like 1000 robots. And yeah I've seen Zisteau's meiosis, but you'll notice he uses belts.
