Re: Friday Facts #392 - Parametrised blueprints

Look like something with great potential, even if it's still a little raw It is not entirely clear how you can conveniently configure Parametrised blueprints; Let's say in my blueprint there are a bunch of identical assemblers, but with different types of Parameterization identifiers. How can I chan...

Re: Friday Facts #389 - Train control improvements

Incredibly useful improvements! Trains at least are already smart, but it is still tiring to configure the railway system even if it is small However, new improvements can confuse a beginner. Not because features are complex, but because most of them are not clear how you can use them. For example, ...

Re: Friday Facts #388 - Smaller things for 2.0

We have already been shown so many changes in Factorio 2.0 that I doubt the compatibility of the new version with saves 1.1 and other older ones

Re: Friday Facts #388 - Smaller things for 2.0

It's interesting to know about the new lamp color system: how is the color adjusted and has the ability to create massive lamp circuits been compromised for the sake of increased color customization?

Re: Friday Facts #387 - Swimming in lava

Does this mean we need to ship calcite to Nauvis if we want to use the more efficient smelting recipes there? https://cdn.factorio.com/assets/blog-sync/fff-380-planet-selection-new.png This is a (my favorite) screenshot of the factory shown in FFF 380. Above the hotbar there is a station with a Cal...

Re: Friday Facts #387 - Swimming in lava

This FFF pleasantly surprised me. I was quite pessimistic about the idea of an interplanetary factory. But fortunately, the developers really care about balance, so eventually (hopefully) the planets will be more unique than "mining outposts", and at the same time have interacting mechanic...

Re: Friday Facts #387 - Swimming in lava

It's a bit of a shame that interesting mechanics are being removed to maintain the pace of progress. I think they should be added, but for a different game mode, for example "Marathon". At the moment, this is a rather crude mode, so it would be nice to implement non-standard complication o...

Re: Friday Facts #386 - Vulcanus

Now I understand why the cliff explosive are available so late in the expansion. The use of cliffs as labyrinths and mountains looks unusual, in contrast to the boring hills of Nauvis. Hopefully the cliff's collision-boxes will also become fairer so that players are less motivated to destroy "a...

If I find a full circle crater I like to put turrets in the middle, like a little fort.
That is, there will also be enemies on this hot and acid planet? Really sounds like a great place to start space travel :D

Re: Friday Facts #384 - Combinators 2.0

At least, the combinators of the XXI century :P Is it possible to send output signal only to specified network color? I see we can compare or send input count value from selected inputs, but there seems to be no selection on which output to put a signal to. I am for example thinking about a case wh...

Re: Friday Facts #384 - Combinators 2.0

Some time ago I was thinking about how to enumerate all non-zero signals in a circuit. I thought that I didn’t have enough knowledge about combinators, but it turned out that this is now almost impossible. But at least it will be like this until version 2.0

Re: Friday Facts #382 - Logistic groups

The weight system raises some questions: 1) Does this system apply to liquids? 2) Chemical plants emit smoke, that is, a small part of the ingredients “evaporates”. Doesn't this mean that the weight of the final product of the plant will be less than the total weight of its ingredients? 3) Will weig...

The inventory of the space platform hub is limited, but so called cargo bays can be constructed next to the hub to increase the capacity.
For some reason I remembered Mindustry.

Re: Friday Facts #380 - Remote view

https://cdn.factorio.com/assets/blog-sync/fff-380-ghost-after.png The new ghost graphics are great and much easier to navigate However, tile ghosts look strange: due to the shade, the tiles “merge” with objects, which greatly worsens the appearance IMHO for tiles you should choose a different effec...

Re: Friday Facts #379 - Abstract rewiring

The developers made an incredible reworking of power system communications, although a small part of the players needed it. I think the overhaul of Spidertron's controls (which is much more commonly used) will be great; Given the hint at the next FFF and the lack of mention of remote in today's FFF...

Re: Friday Facts #379 - Abstract rewiring

Finally, I'll can quickly build laser turret defense with an energy-saving system. So far, even with the blueprints, it's a complete hell of spaghetti wires, which is almost impossible to untangle in case of a mistake I remember how I once made a stupid mistake, and to find it, I drove around the en...
