How about a statistics tab where you can look at some of the stuff that happened that game / lifetime? Factories put down, units produced, biters killed, ... I would wish for a bit more UI information at some point anyway But I guess something like that has to come closer to the end of development.

I am more of a purist and don't like use mods. I know where you're coming from, though especially with a game like Factorio, I have to say you're missing out on a lot.
