With any setting of latency, me and my friend that lives a 4-3 kilometers away from me cant seem to maintain a stable connection for more than 30 min, sometimes 8 minutes, also, this didn't happen in version 0.12.35 (latest version we played before the update to 0.13.3) EDIT : Game ended up crashing...

Trains could need services every X tiles traveled and the longer it goes without service the worse it performs until it eventually breaks down and what not. we could have special train stops that signal a section or sections of tracks for maintenance and the trains will automatically seek out these ...

I don't know about you but usually my turrets are so plentiful it would be just be a pain or be overlooked when setting up 300 + tile walls of pure double row turrets

This would not add much, as you can sort stuff and split cargo by having more than one train or such, but i agree i love using trains in this game and any new features are welcome in my book. i'd probably be the first to make a massive pointless shunting yard
