IMHO a scripting language for something like Factorio should have two things: Purity Simplicity Lua mostly meets the second requirement, but it's lack of purity is what makes it awful for safety, performance and flexibility. It is somewhat ironic that a project like fCPU, uses combinators internally...

I tested with Gnome on Wayland, and it's not really better there. Not sure, whats the problem, but it might be that, NVidia is not very well supported for Wayland.
