They do consume a resource for their continued operation though: bullets.
Unlike most things built in factorio, bullets are irretrievably lost after one use.

I've noticed a discrepancy in the recipe of the "Speed Module 3" that may not be intentional. The Mk3 version of every module costs 5 Advanced Circuits (red cards), 5 Processing Units (blue cards), 1 Alien Artifact, and 5 Mk2 cards. Except for the Speed module 3. That one costs 4 (four) of...
