Re: Add filters to Storage Chests
robots come over and take the items from the provider, and put them back in the requester. I literally could not fathom what he was talking about until you laid it out like that and I have utterly no idea why, however In that case yes I can see what he means now. @OP Any particular reason why you c...

Re: Add filters to Storage Chests
linking a passive provider and a request chest makes and infinite loop I really don't think they work like that, the ore should sit in the passive provider chest until it's requested by something (IE the requester chest in this case) and the bots will attempt to keep the request chest at the set le...

Re: How do I get started on a new map?
Unsurprisingly I know exactly what you're going through, had a couple of friends who were interested in playing a map as co-op so I spent ~2 days trying to find the perfect map, played with RSO's settings more than I care to admit and then I finally found one that didn't have ore too far apart, or t...

Re: Friday Facts #130 - Steam release side effects
Please learn reading. My reading is fine, if that's what you meant then actually say that from the beginning. Leaving it up to the readers imagination can be a fickle thing, as you've just seen it can be misinterpreted quite easily. Anyhoo personally I believe that it's just a case of more than the...

Re: Friday Facts #130 - Steam release side effects
* Get real about a decent web host. My business site would have cost me a TON more money for 8tb traffic. 80 USD. 10 USD per Terabyte. Get a decent host. I'm curious, where did you see them mention the actual amount they spent on overages? On top of that I'm confused by your statement, how does the...

Re: [0.12.26] [cube] Headless dedicated server shuts itself down
Just popping back in to let you know I haven't abandoned this yet, key word being yet.
So far I've discovered that it ~may~ be an OS issue, I spun up a new VPS and tried using CentOS 7. So far it's gone 3 days strong and is still running as I type this.

Re: [0.12.x] RSO Discussion thread
@Umcookies Thats.. scary - is this an effect of config edits ? Certainly was, I'm trying to nail down the settings to something that feels nice so I'm playing around with them. -Few enough resources so that we need to explore (so mainly few starting resources) but enough once we do explore that we ...

Re: [0.12.26] [cube] Headless dedicated server shuts itself down
I'll setup some monitoring and report back.
Would it be connection issues from a cilent or for the server causing this?

Re: [0.12.26] [cube] Headless dedicated server shuts itself down
So your server is not bombarded by anyone, we just read the log wrong :-) My mistake really, I've got a couple sets of logs and i chose to upload the messiest one for whatever reason. Now the fact my server isnt being bomb barded is both reassuring and worrying because now i have utterly no idea wh...

Re: [0.12.26] [cube] Headless dedicated server shuts itself down
From this (repeated) part of the log, it is apperent, that these two IP. addresses were doing it: 42.241.5.236 58.170.216.248 So blocking these two, or other addresses that will be mentioned in the log with the wrong sessionMagic will probably solve it. Ah my apologies, as I pointed out in the orig...

Re: [0.12.26] [cube] Headless dedicated server shuts itself down
The problem is, that the server is bombarded by random packets from at least 2 sources that eventually crash it. Cube is working on some improvements that could solve it. (So it starts ignore IP addresses that sent more invalid packets). Fantastic, glad to know that it's a known issue. Also explain...

[0.12.26] [cube] Headless dedicated server shuts itself down
Hello there! I appreciate you taking your time to read this. To keep it short and sweet I've setup a headless server on a Vultr VPS (kvm, 756mb ram, 15.10Ubuntu X64) and much to my surprise it started immediately, nothing more to download or install, just the factorio files and map file and the serv...
