I am assuming your belts are traveling either east or west, turning to the north, and you're realizing that the northernmost belt has fewer belt spaces than the southernmost belt.
What I'm not clear on is what you mean by "screws up my compression".

Re: Furnaces keep getting stone
If you're far enough along, drop a set of smart inserters near the raw iron before the smelting area, set to grab stone ore and drop it into a chest.
Think of them as Quality Control grabbing rocks from the line.

Re: 13.x beta before June
Followup question: How will this function for those on STEAM? Some on STEAM will want only stable releases, no experimental stuff. Some on STEAM want to experience the bleeding edge of development. I forget if this is billed as an "early release" or not -- if it is, then experimental pushe...

Re: Loader Poll - Trying to get an idea of what the opinions are
I keep seeing the desire to make these "Loaders" cost a lot in terms of science, materials, upkeep or some esoteric combination of all three. Let's dial it down a notch and ask ourselves what this technology is compared to, say, the following: 1/ Conveyor belts 2/ Robotic Arms 3/ Robotic A...

I managed (somehow) to read a preview of this article when it was up briefly a few hours before the official posting. The only thing missing was the image, which included this key bit of information: 0x417072696c20466f6f6c73 The "shake your phone like a pikeaxe" is brilliant and will reall...

Re: How I sort of wish this was a Warhammer 40k game
Board Game Geek had to do a site-wide takedown of a LOT of GW IP in response to a free "print and play" game that included original artwork "inspired by" GW's lore. *Site Wide* And it changed the rules for all future updates/contributions to that site as well. Please don't do thi...

Re: How I sort of wish this was a Warhammer 40k game
Please be very wary of invoking the name of Games Workshop Intellectual Property, especially Warhammer / Warhammer 40K. They have very aggressive lawyers who protect their IP with the ferocity of a Templar. They have successfully shut down mentions of Space Marines, fan-art re-skins of board and car...

Re: SOLAR or STEAM [poll]
I do it that way because Defense outweighs Continuous Production in importance. Wouldn't want a destroyed perimeter just because of item greed. Well written and reasoned, and agrees with my basic belief that "dead biter" and "slow/no production" far outweighs "live biter ea...

Re: SOLAR or STEAM [poll]
What am I missing here? Why do we want a "separate" energy grid dedicated to the Lasers? Yes the power does get rerouted when all on same grid, but with main factory on solar and lasers on steam they're always online 24/7 with max energy. The rest of the factory may run out of accumulator...

Re: SOLAR or STEAM [poll]
As I understand it, Laser Turrets are priority 1 on energy draw, everything else will yield power to the Laser Turrets if they want to fire. Laser Turrets only need to fire if there is an enemy within range. Laser Turrets that don't fire on an in-range enemy are about to become very expensive Biter ...

Re: When to expect 0.13?
The steam Release of the stable 0.12.* version *just* happened. Though they've seemed to release every quarter or so, realize that a lot of time that might have gone towards development was pushed to make the Steam release as successful as it was. Every Friday the devs release a "Friday Facts&q...

Re: How to increase the input of assembling machines
Technically, because of the input buffer, you do not need to match the input/output inserter ratio, you need to match the input/output of materials. Having two inserters for a gears assembly is a waste of power and materials. You only need one inserter, and the inserter will try to keep the current ...

There are currently three different containers that can store stuff for you: Chests (of various ilk): 1x1 : 4 max in/out points (x2 if using long inserters) Car: 2x2, mobile: 8 max in/out points (x2 if using long inserters) Train Car: 2x6, mobile on tracks: 12 {maybe 16} in/out points, (x2 if using ...

Also, if you have a double headed train ( loco - car - car - loco ) there isn't any reason to loop at the stations/ends.

Perhaps your university's computers have that restriction in place for a reason? Imagine if you had a "very important paper" to work on and every machine had some form of game on it, with a user who had no intention of getting off that machine any time soon. That said, I believe you can pu...

Re: So, are aliens intelligent anyway?
Sentience: Sentience refers to possession of sensory organs, the ability to feel or perceive, not necessarily including the faculty of self-awareness. The possession of sapience is not a necessity. The word sentient is often confused with the word sapient, which can connote knowledge, consciousness,...
