"Have you tried turning it off and on again?" (again) fixed it. As a software dev I should have known the obvious thing fixes half the problems...

Re: [MOD 0.12.x] Searching flashlight
Thanks, but it doesn't work in the latest version (0.15.9). It says "Picker Extended" is a dependency. So there is currently no stand-alone version of "Searching Flashlight"?

Stand-alone would be great! It's such a nifty little mod, I'm really missing it.

I'd love to see this updated for 0.15.

Any specific info you need?
I'm a dev myself so it shouldn't be a problem to provide you with detailed information.

Re: [0.12.9][MAC] White top bar
That gives me even less space as then I have the window's title bar as well as the top menu bar. It's not a workaround.
That sounds like you are only maximizing the window, not making it full screen (which creates a new space for only one window). I'm talking about this: https://support.apple.com ...

Re: [0.12.9][MAC] White top bar
I'm just confirming that this still happens. I'm on Mac OS X 10.8.5 when I go fullscreen. There's a solid white bar across the top of the screen in the place of where the menu bar usually is.
Have you seen the workaround I've posted earlier?

Re: OS X: Low res window chrome (title text) and fix
I've found SwitchResX (http://www.madrau.com) which changes the resolution when an app is launched. Unfortunately this resolution change is for the whole system and not just one app (which makes the rest of OS X very tiny) and is unusable for me as I often switch apps.

Re: [0.12.9][MAC] White top bar
The issue with this method is that it doesn't disable hot corners, meaning that my machine will go to sleep if I move my mouse too far from the center.
Good point. I only use one hot corner to disable the screensaver so this is no issue for me. Have a look at this: http://apple.stackexchange.com ...

OS X: Low res window chrome (title text) and fix
When launching Factorio on OS X the window's title ("Factorio 0.12....") is in low resolution, even when using a retina display (e.g. iMac 5k).
Opening the Factorio.app "Get Info" dialog (right click on app) shows "Open in Low Resolution" activated but grayed-out.

Imagine factorio on a 13" iPad Pro with pencil support... I would never get off the crapper again

Re: [0.12.9][MAC] White top bar
I think I had the same issue when I first started factorio a few days ago in fullscreen mode.
The easy fix I'm using is NOT using fullscreen mode but to use the window's native zoom button (formerly +). It maximized the window and gives it its own space (as in OS X's Mission Control spaces).
