Re: Friday Facts #380 - Remote view
One last thought- The ability to fully manipulate modules in bulk would be extremely useful in vanilla, especially getting into larger bases with large repetitive setups, and/or jumping between different quality levels. You're currently limited to only replacing modules in machines if they already ...

Re: Friday Facts #380 - Remote view
Ghosts are looking much better now! I would not consider remotely building a piece of factory with ghosts but I can see I'll do it all the time now. One suggestion: With the ghost looking so slick now, the deconstruction mark "X" now feels outdated. Could entities marked for deconstructio...

Re: Friday Facts #380 - Remote view
I loved everything about this FFF. Factorio is going to feel so different moving from 1.1 to 2.0 (in a good way).

Sooner is better than later, but thinking about various builds to maximize quality output factory-wide while managing overflow and stuff is keeping me occupied enough lol.

Re: [Idea] Circuit network connectable object that pauses game
No worries! There is still quite a lot of time so its no rush at all. Maybe someone else who sees value in this could volunteer as well. Otherwise I can learn lua at some point and do what I can (I'm pretty experienced with Python, hopefully it isn't too big of a leap).

Re: [Idea] Circuit network connectable object that pauses game
I wasn't sure whether to post this or not since it can be done with additional circuit logic- One more thing that would make this easier to use- an option on each pause combinator/emitter to only fire once per given signal. Meaning if the signal to pause is constant and the cooldown time has been re...

Re: [Idea] Circuit network connectable object that pauses game
Very nice, you got that up quite fast! I didn't even know it was possible to freeze the game in the way that does, I figured there it would be some mod API thing that goes the normal pause route. I think I like your way even better, provided there is eventually some kind of persistent notice on the ...

[Idea] Circuit network connectable object that pauses game
https://i.imgur.com/un2aO82.jpg Why With the upcoming expansion and the vast amount of material processing required for quality, megabases and advanced research, a lot of people will be running the game AFK. Despite the huge benefit this brings, it comes with an obvious problem: entropy! We all kno...

Re: Friday Facts #379 - Abstract rewiring
Its interesting to read about the various facets of the game get refinement and polish. The expansion is already looking to be a beast, and we've barely even delved into the FFF's for the next year.
And thanks for the hint for what the next FFF will contain, you guys should do that more often!

Re: Anyone else got hyped enough about space age that they had to dive into space exploration?
Yep, my current playthrough is K2SE with Rampant/Armored Biters with deathworld settings. Its hellish, but probably one of my most fun playthroughs yet, and I finally get to try all of the powerful modded turrets/weaponry in K2SE

Re: The big question: Are you going to try v2?
All BPs have already been deleted for a clean slate. This is a new chapter for the game and tbh I'm ready to dive in once it releases. Sure there will be all kinds of new mechanics/optimizations/content but I have faith the devs won't make it lose what made it good in the first place. As f...

Re: Expansion hype thread - Any updates on when/if there will be an expansion?
For 1.0, the announcement of its date was 2 1/2 months in advance in FFF #349. Safe to say it'll probably again be in that rough range.

Re: Friday Facts #377 - New new rails
With everything we know so far about the DLC, its definitely coming together into something very exciting. And just to think, we're only a handful of FFF's in! This game has come such a long way since being introduced to it nearly 8 years ago. I'm beyond excited to try it out the day it comes out, a...

Re: Quality Poll
And given my lack of proper english words to describe things, i fear that it will be confusing ( ambiguous) when i try to use those compared to terms that would be more specific to the engineering/automation lexical field but that i do not know yet and would need to learn for factorio ( which i wou...

Re: Quality Poll
it is tricky (if not impossible) to have a clear order for intermediate levels. Whatever we/the devs ultimately agree upon for these 'middle' (Q2-Q4) phrases, this seems to be the measure of their utility: Are the words/phrases easy enough to remember? Does this ranking clearly denote position whil...
