While there is no new sound input (for example chopping wood or placing an item) all the game sounds fade away within a few seconds. When a new sound input (biter attack alarm, placing an item etc) is made the sound comes back again, only to fade away after a few seconds. Walking and driving the car...

Tried that, didn't work at first. After I restarted the client it did work however.
