As a programmer myself (not a game developer at all though) I love these kind of more technical explanations. Awesome to see how new insights can still lead to such big improvements even after all the optimizations and incredible performance gains you guys did for the 0.15.x release ( hope my memory...

[0.17.0] - Save name

Don't know if this is a bug or intentional but the game doesn't allow the save game to start with a capital 'Z', the lower case version 'z' works.

Hi,

I'm playing in a multiplayer map with another player and I just noticed that, as long as I have my Research tree open, the Current research block is not updated when the other player starts a research.

When I close and reopen the Research Tree the Current Research is shown

That was a rather late FFF, remember to also enjoy the weekend guys there is more to life than work :) But better late then never :) I also noticed among my friend that they quickly bought the game when I spread the word about the upcoming price adjustment. 1.5 million copies almost, congratulations...

Why not ask for the opt-in / opt-out once in the main menu for the people who haven't made a choice yet. Show it in a popup over the main menu, that way it isn't much different than the release notes popup. Because people aren't in a active game they have the time to read the information in the popu...

Detail view? Right now you can only zoom in further than the abstracted map view in areas that the player has line of sight on or are illuminated by a radar. It would be nice if launching the satellite made the entire explored region of the map visible- effectively disable fog of war at that point....

I think it is currently rather weird that you can zoom into a detail view of the world from your map right at the start of the game. What device is enabling this detailed view? The radar gives the basic view so that is explained. That got me wondering if it wouldn't be more logical that the zoom to ...
