Re: Another puzzle
Why the heck is this screenshot sooooo wide? Do you play on 3 monitors side by side? That's actually more confusing to me than the belt design

Re: Furnace emptying
They really look like an Industrial Robot, but are not programable (ignore the Smart Industrial Robot) and do nothing more than moving items.
I'd say keep the name and add a descriptive tooltip like FishSandwich suggested

Re: Solar panel factory
I knew about the possibility, but I never actually seen it used by anyone. Is all that infrastructure just to feed the one solar panel assembler? Yes it is. I got a slight overproduction of steel, iron and coppper, probably frations of one smelter. The cargo wagon is really great. One could even tr...

Re: Some (maybe) useful tools for factory design
normaly the numbers is desired items per second, so for 1 assembler lvl 2 it should be x = 1 / crafttime * 0.75 e.g. for SciencePack 1 with craftingtime = 5: 1/5*0.75 = 0.15 put in 0.15 in demand.csv and your good to go Although ~150K of iron plates per second seems scary, I'm pretty sure it can be ...

Re: Some (maybe) useful tools for factory design
I don't understand graphviz although I'd like to mathematically optimize my factories :P I'm not really sure what you don't understand, so here's a quick todo list: 0. download, unzip the archive from OP 1. install python and graphviz 2. edit demand.csv to your liking 3. run factorio.py 4. open the...

Solar panel factory
Here is a creation of mine: One assembler producing solar panels at max. capaity (about 90 panels/m) panelAM2b.jpg Note that it's created using the Testing mode mod, as i don't have a save where producing the furnaces, miners, etc wouldn't take hours itself :D Here is how i feed the assembling machi...

Re: Some (maybe) useful tools for factory design
Nice tool, thank you for that. I modified dot_print(items) to show the required assembling machines/ furnaces on the arrows/edges (after items per second) when the item is used in different recipes, makes it easier to create "subfactories" :D Here's the code if anyone is interested: def do...

From the picture it should be working, maybe try removing the underground pipes and place them again.

Re: Help with worm clearing and deconstruction.
I was so glad to have a game with >100 hours within 3 month. :| where do they have all the time from? Coffee is liquid time  When i first played Factorio my sleeping time went down from 5 hours to 3 hours for almost a week, and coffee consumption went up a lot  Now i'm back to n...

Re: controlling train loading
I came up with a solution here: https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... f=8&t=2906
But as ssilk said: it's neither efficient nor compact
I think it can be adjusted to add a delay before the loading starts to allow unloading, so the wagon doesn't get filled with one item type.

"Smart" train loading
This thread somehow got me thinking, and i came up with this trainstation: traaains.png This setup loads roughly 44 (rarely 48) poison capsules into the cargo wagon and then stops until the train leaves. Wiringis as follows: - Red wire: Chest A, Inserter 1,2 and 3 - Green wire: Chest C, Inserter 1 ...
