what is the point of mod in this game? and what are the essential mods that wont change the game significantly
hello, i am not that familiar with game modding, since i feel like its just making your game "fun" temporarily. like example "meme mod" or "putting your favorite anime song in the game". nothing is groundbreaking something that feels essential or revitalize the game. bu...

Re: how do I switch between accumulator and steam/coal based machine?
Your copper wires attaching to the power switch is going to be part of what makes this whole thing work. Could be part of what's giving you so much trouble. hmmmm, so something like this? (not sure if you can see it, but there is copper cable connecting from main to switcher) Screenshot (1290)_LI.j...

Re: how do I switch between accumulator and steam/coal based machine?
So, I almost feel bad that I laughed a little when i saw this picture. You CAN connect the large power poles to each other with the red wire. Sometimes you have to move around to get them connected, but as long as the copper cable can connect, then the red and green wires can as well. BigPowerWires...

Re: how do I switch between accumulator and steam/coal based machine?
is this really it? or I'm missing something? I'm trying to like satisfy my electricity productions, so I can switch to solar now instead of expanding my steam and boiler Alright, i'm not sure exactly what you don't get, but this is how i did it. I hope this can shed you a little light. Electronic c...

Re: how do I switch between accumulator and steam/coal based machine?
Accumulators give off a circuit network signal. You can wire them to a power switch to isolate your steam engines as long as demand is being met elsewhere. If the accumulator falls below a threshold, toggle the engines back on. Look up how to make an SR latch (aka a memory toggle) with combinators....

Re: why is my oil and petroleum production decrease over time?
Instead of telling you how to do things, I want to know...where is all your sulfur going? I'm not sure myself. I keep on pumping oil, build chemical, try to build something, then ended up reloading my save before processing oil because I dont know what to do with it. planned to create solar base po...

Re: why is my oil and petroleum production decrease over time?
But some intermediate materials will normally not be directly used by yourself. You don't store plastic in chests, instead you store some advanced circuits. Advanced circuits are used in many recipes which you could find yourself crafting. You don't store sulfur in chests, instead you store some ex...

Re: why is my oil and petroleum production decrease over time?
You don't store it in storage tanks. Pipes already store a small amount of fluid. Also the machines that use fluid store a small amount on their input buffers. Most of the time that's all the buffer you'll ever need. One case where you will want storage tanks is for the outputs of refineries. Refin...

Re: why is my oil and petroleum production decrease over time?
hahaha why are you mad? im just asking because for some items, like rails for example where I need it in bulk, I feel like its less hassle to store it on chest rather than wait for the assembling machine

Re: why is my oil and petroleum production decrease over time?
Also don't do something dumb like buffering tons of sulfur/plastic or placing storage tanks for acid. what do you mean by this? It means you don't put a lot of sulfur/plastic into chests, or place several storage tanks for sulfuric acid (I wouldn't put even a single storage tank, to be honest). one...

why is my oil and petroleum production decrease over time?
Hello I have learned that oil in this game will never run out. but the problem is, my petroleum production decrease overtime and the production is getting slower, even though nothing changes as you can see here, my petroleum and water production is constant, 60/60 and it will continue producing sulf...

Re: needs advice and help regarding my train setup
The most reliable rule is: Use rail signals before a section of track that trains are allowed to stop on (such as a station or siding). Use chain signals before any sections of track you don't want trains to stop on (such as intersections, or two-way track). wait, use rail signal on station? thats ...

Re: needs advice and help regarding my train setup
To allow for expansion, I would suggest changing from your current 2-way track, to two 1-way tracks. Getting rail signals right is pretty tricky, but I have found the following works in most cases: Use chain signals at all entrances to an intersection, to keep trains from blocking the intersection,...

Re: needs advice and help regarding my train setup
The simplest way is to start using dual one-way track (like I showed on the right) everywhere. Using single two-way track (like on the left) is cheaper to build, but you need to understand how signals work very well to use it correctly. I will try to redo it again like you said. the reason why I us...
