Re: Working with trains is a pain in the..

I'd really appreciate some feedback from Wube on this matter. This exact issue has seemingly not come up before (if it's regarding these forums and Koub can't find it..). For me this issue is quite a big problem, I've shown what happens every time I work with track in my factory. The generally low U...

Re: Friday Facts #309 - Controversial opinions

Twinsen, To address your thoughts on blueprints. I understand your reasoning behind wishing to only have blueprints as a MODed feature, allowing (especially a new player) To stamp down a whole factory from a blueprint (I've seen such blueprint books) Defeats the whole point to Factorio. However as a...

Re: Working with trains is a pain in the..

Thanks for the replies. First point to raise is that I doubt the underlying issue is MOD related as the discerning factor here is whether or not the trains are stopped or started. I did go back and test however. This time using 'mk 1 bots'. A couple of points on this they are bobs - but use vanilla ...

Re: Working with trains is a pain in the..

I think he means hopping on a train and when it stops at a station you toggle it to manual and hop of. Do some fixing of a problem. Then you hop back on and turn it back to automatic again. I think it would be better to have a temporary stop with "wait 5 seconds and player present". Ahh, understood.

Re: Working with trains is a pain in the..

The reality of working with trains is not as others have stated here. So I went and made a 3 min video for you all to watch as a case in point. In it I deconstruct a train junction - it is totally isolated. And then rebuild the junction with undo. And then stop all the trains and deconstruct again.....

Re: Working with trains is a pain in the..

Any track laid down has the ups hit, even if I stamped down an 8 lane 4 way totally isolated, the ups would hit, as (I assume) The game still has to know what it connects to? It doesn't know it's isolated. Surgically severing the train path, say the 4 north and south bound routes leading into a T ju...

Working with trains is a pain in the..

.. behind! And here's a few ideas I feel would help. I'm torn when in comes to working with trains. On the one hand working out an optimum design that still has a visual appeal or symmetry is such a fun thing to do and iterate on, that I have lost whole night s to designing a single main base offloa...

Re: [0.17.66] Is death world marathon hard enough? (green-build)

Green is the future, for deathworlds and us all. Changing the starting size is a way to add more challenge, very small sized starting areas bring the bugs so much sooner. Dave's point about the desert might not be well known - especially if you're new - add it to the games loading tips! The pollutio...

This feature is so so needed, they did mention in a FFF about reworking the trash / requesting system, I sincerely hope this will be added too.

Re: Maybe a bug maybe not!

It also automatically unlocks when you launch the first rocket of the map if I'm not mistaken. Yep, big boss removed the queue (I don't think it was in vanilla yet, just planned?) As he didn't want people blitzing through research if they are new to the game, a little bit of community debate ensued...

Re: [MOD 0.15.x] The Fat Controller. Remote train manager 2.0.7

I've been bug hunting for you! This is what I was doing, in case it may help you track things down. I used Fat Controller to stop all the trains, whilst all were stopped I then manually started 2 or 3 to move them out the way. Then I had to stop all the trains again due to the 3 or so I started manu...

The Linux version of Factorio can fork the game save process and do it in the background whilst you play on. Does this also happen with Linux headless? I assume it would, but wanted to check.

Trending Feature

I want to bring up the trending feature which is shown via the in game browser. It's a great addition for sure, a useful tool for highlighting those MODs which are new and popular, or those you missed.. The number shown in the trending column though, it means what exactly? Clearly it's linked to wha...

Re: Ultimate Paranoia Defence

Someone at Wube after reading this: Hang on a minute, if we pipe some of their forum uploads through that free open source algorithm thing to compress it, we might long term end up with lower hosting bills. I'm thinking Wube's hosting must be a whole big bunch already, MOD portal and so forth, how r...

Re: 0.17 - is it stable enough for the casual player?

Yes, jump in. Wube will be the first to say you may get an odd crash, rare in my own experience, and you will get balance changes (which I myself don't mind, once you're set up it's fun to have to rethink on a big scale). Those these are usually discussed in full before hand in the FFF thread or sim...

Re: Improved tank cannon responsiveness.

I see both blues points, have to agree with Templar though. The vanilla tank should be somewhat slow in tracking with the turret, but should pack a punch. For me this is vanilla Factorio to a tee. I have a few MODs ™ so couldn't comment on its punch. What might be a solution is to have a smaller fas...

MOD Portal Bug

Small bug on the MOD portal, when you reply to a thread, if you adjust the reply window size, you can drag the window off to the right and out of bounds as it were. The part of the window you grab to adjust the size vanishes, and word wrapping gets messed up visually, with words cut in half / off sc...

But that still doesn't give the thief the code on the back on the card ? A scanner wont give you the 3 digit number on the back, but it will allow you to clone the card, and if it's a contact less type then potentially at least, take directly from your bank account. It must vary from country to cou...

Should be fixed in the latest update.

Are you sure you want only half of the lanes with signals? (That's what caused the error, but it should still have read the blueprint fine)
Probably not! It wouldn't be much of an upgrade, that's for sure. Thanks for the fix.
