Very interesting hypothesis you have there. I can agree on the splash image in the beginning at least. One of my favorite changes to 12.x is the image. As I'm still very new, seeing that helped me visualize my factory.

Re: Poll: Faster crafting speed?
I like how it is now. I just got to the point where i need to make blue science stuff. I stopped on that to really see everything that can be made with green science. I am used making everything in my pocket, so now the fact that it takes me 8+ seconds to make stuff has given me the incentive to and ...

Re: Solid Fuel v. Coal
I guess i just haven't gotten very far in game. I JUST finished all green science modules. I'm preparing a blue science area, but i am doing everything green science allows me to do first to really learn the different interactions.

My friend described this game as 2d Minecraft with all the industrial mods. That's what sold me on it :p

Re: Implementing a Router
DisSsha, would you mind explaining what the different terms (HUB) etc. Mean? I know little about networking, but in my experience, learning the terms for different concepts makes it much easier to understand certain things. I am struggling with Factorio atm precisely because i have no knowledge of ...

Re: So, how long will your Factory have power? I can help!
Using the energy values i think is a more robust way to do these calculations. That way, you can use things besides coal.
Wood is 4 mJ
Coal is 8 mJ
Solid Fuel is 25 mJ
Unless you have a high demand for Lubricant, using Solid Fuel from Heavy oil seems like a cool way to make your coal last longer ...

Re: Inserters+chests VS Belts in assembly blocks
At first, i was under the impression that inserter stack bonus would apply to pick up and deposit into a belt. If that is not the case, how does one maximise the benefit of the stack bonus?
It seems it's only really useful if you have trains unloading into chests since the stack bonus can be used ...

Solid Fuel v. Coal
So I just started pumping oil in my game. I can't refine into other stuff yet so I've been refining the three different products into Solid Fuel. Does this make sense? I noticed Coal is nescessary for Plastic (Tough, then again, so is petrogas) but solid fuel has 25 mJ of energy v. 8 mJ.

Re: Single track, two-way, two trains. Is it possible?
One thing one should keep in mind is to make roundabouts at the stations and/or put engines on both sides of the train so it can go back and forth. Kinda obvious, but leaving no stone unturned and all that...
