Delete how? Explain exactly what you did.
Re: Game Crashes when deleting mods not even in use
Well it's pretty simple I even made a screencast for ya.
1. Load Factorio.
2. See the latested update patch notes (This keeps showing up btw)
3. Click mods
4. click on some disabled mods to delete
5. Get Unexpected Error
6. Go to Folder containing log
I have attached the log named it factorio-current-08-09-2021.txt
And here is the link to the video.

Re: Game Crashes when deleting mods not even in use
Is the crash happening when selecting specifically the 'Autobuild' mod? Or maybe when there are a certain number of mods selected?Kelton wrote: Wed Sep 08, 2021 11:28 pm Well it's pretty simple I even made a screencast for ya.

Re: [1.1.39] Game Crashes when deleting mods not even in use (macOS 10.11.6)
I found the folder and delete all the mods that haven't been activated in over a year.
They were only added to play a map with my nephew and then turned off and not used again.
So I don't even have any mods in the game and it still crashes.
Last test this morning September 9th I was able to load the game and load a map but the game crashed when I tried to dump a bunch of walls in to chest using the control key.

Completely Fresh Install Same Result
Without hearing anything back from the development team of Factorio. I though maybe if I completely removed Steam, Factorio and any reference to factorio on my MacBook Pro 15 inch running OSX 10.11.6.
And then download directly from Factorio with a verified download and install I might get the game working again.
I am sad to say that the game crashed on the login screen see logs below.
I am not going to trying anything or even try to load the game until I hear back from Factorio Dev Team or you have updated the game as I have tried everything I know, and I would be just caught in a failing while loop.
(Yes I even turn it on and off again)

If you post your save, I can check it, both in Windows and Catalina (10.15.7)

My nephew checked it on his Windows Machine. But not on Catalina here ya go Also here is my blueprints which your gonna have to convert to a .dat file because I couldn't export each and every code before the game crashed if you wanna check both that would be great!azesmbog wrote: Sun Sep 12, 2021 11:48 am If you post your save, I can check it, both in Windows and Catalina (10.15.7)

The Sep 11 log doesn't actually have a crash in it, the log just ends with the game still running.
The other two show the game received SIGSEGV - that's a signal sent by the OS shutting the game down, due to the program attempting to access memory it shouldn't. Considering it keeps crashing and in different areas, and you've already made a completely new install of Factorio, I'd suspect you have some hardware or software issues with your OS.
IIRC macs should all have some basic diagnostics built in - you might want to run those, especially RAM tests.

Here on Catalina

Launched and works without problems.
I don’t know how to convert a file in .dat, but it’s hardly the case. The base itself is working fine.
I have a local version of Factorio, not Steam.
I also think that the problem is possibly in the hardware or in the OS

Thank you. Your the first person to give me anything constructive from what I have posted. I will certainly look at running those test.Silari wrote: Sun Sep 12, 2021 7:10 pm The Sep 11 log doesn't actually have a crash in it, the log just ends with the game still running.

I have completed a couple of Diagnostics using both Apple’s Diagnostics tools and a program called EtreCheckProKelton wrote: Mon Sep 13, 2021 2:36 amThank you. Just to keep this thread updated as well:
I re-installed steam and re-installed Factorio and then made sure I was running 1.1.38 and I have been happily playing for a couple hours now without any issue. So I am fairly certain the issue with 1.1.39 is an issue with Factorio and OSX 10.11.6.
