[Oxyd] Biters run away from activating mines

Post by thuejk »

Mines have an activation time, after which they become invisible to enemies. When this happens, biters who were targeting the mine seems to for whatever reason run far away from the mine, instead of trying to acquire a new target.

I mean, maybe I would run away too if the highly explosive landmine suddenly armed itself...

But lemmings biters are not normally know for their sense of self-preservation, with e.g. single biters running straight at walls of turrets...

I more think like the highly explosive landmine suddenly disappeares.

I think the bitters are scared shitless by the apparent magic and run home to moma for a glass of warm milk to calm down.

The flee behaviour is meant mostly as a last option when there's nothing they can do – like when they're being attacked by a turret on an unreachable island. I suppose it makes some sense for suddenly-armed landmines as well, but I agree that they should first look for an alternative target.

So fixed in 1.1.51, they'll look for new targets first.
