If you press enter very quickly (twice in the same tick), you will exit the vehicle too far away. This is much more noticeable when playing at low UPS values.

Are you using any mods? The game doesn't actually have a "exit vehicle" hotkey; just toggle driving. The first press would leave the vehicle and the 2nd would then enter it again. So regardless of how fast the game is running or how many times you manage to press it in the same tick it doesn't effect anything.

I was using a few mods, but disabling all of them yields the same result.
It seems that this occurs when there are multiple enter vehicle hotkeys and both are pressed in the same tick (it is easy to reproduce if you set the game speed really low and spam both keys)

Ok, I was able to reproduce it and it's now fixed for the next release.
