[Rseding91] [1.1.2] String matching in crafting GUI search is now less flexible

Post by brevven »

When searching in the crafting menu, in 1.0, I used to be able to type, for example "trt", which would show results that matched "turret" ("bet" shows results that match "belt", etc) this is nice because it means i can search for almost anything right-hand-only and leave my left hand on the mouse.

Now, as of 1.1.2 and as far as I can tell 1.1.0 as well, the string match requires a true substring, instead of being allowed to skip characters.

I did not see anything in the patch notes suggesting this was intentionally removed. Note that I have tried with "Fuzzy search" setting both enabled and disabled.

Expected behavior:

Searching for "trt" in the crafting menu should show all "turret" related results (same for other similar flexible string matches)

Actual behavior:

Searching for "trt" in the crafting menu does not show any "turret" results (and similar flexible string matches no longer work)

Steps to reproduce:
  1. Open up the crafting menu
  2. Click the magnifying glass
  3. Type, for example, "trt"
  4. Notice that there are no "turret" results.
My mods include Titanium, Lead, and more

Weird, why is fuzzy search broken (not being enabled internally)

Thanks for the report. It's now fixed for the next release.
