[Rseding91] [0.17.7] Mods mismatch detected incorrectly

Probably related to the change in the 0.17.7 about mods
Fixed that the game would incorrectly think some mods wouldn't be required when joining multiplayer games even though they are.

Same issue. Server states ModsMismatch but the same zip files for mods are used on both server & client, and server log indicates loading the mods so its not an issue of mods loading but communication between client & server in regards to mods seem to not work right.

Having the same problem.

We tried to use the savegame in multiplayer hosting, the update also killed some mods ("They are missing")... so it is not only server side.

Same problem here, me and a friend never had problems to join each other in moded games since 2 years. Yesterday it worked fine, but today since 0.17.7 it does not work anymore. We uninstalled the mods, reinstalled. Does not help. We are 100% sure we have the same mods with the same versions.

Ugg, this is what happens when you can't test multiplayer with mods all on one computer.

Ok, it's now fixed for 0.17.8 which I'll see if we can send out early tomorrow.

In the meantime you'll need to roll back to 0.17.6 with your modded servers.

Thanks, I tried but something crashed on my headless, something about cannot roll back to previous version of map or something. So I'll wait 17.8.

Is there a config file to roll back? We have a modded G-Portal Server and only the options standard and experimental

Is there actually a way to rollback to 1.17.6? It looks like the map versions were updated in 1.17.7, so the game will not start. Any workaround?

Not sure what you mean by that. You should be able to run the headless server and a client on the same box. Using the dtandersen/factorio docker image would make that really trivial.

That would be great, if my 0.17.6 server could in fact load the map that it just updated to 0.17.7, but it can't. It throws an error, and then exits. Until you release 0.17.8 we can not continue our save on the server because of this error.

Where is the rushed release? I cant rollback my server because i cant load the already generated 17.7 save back in 17.6...

This is why you do backups prior to upgrading.
Also never go with bleeding edge if you are unsure.
