I have a savegame that consistently freezes and completely locks up, responding to no inputs and forcing me to kill the process (though the music continues to play). Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to localize the issue to a single cause, but it’s consistent enough that it’s easy for me to reproduce. Here’s a video of the freeze happening:
I’ve uploaded the save that consistently causes the issue for me. To reproduce, I just load the save, zoom out, and wander around while my bots upgrade things in range. The game usually crashes within a minute, and sometimes much faster. I’ve also uploaded a process sample I took while the game was frozen, just before I killed the process.
I am running macOS 10.14.0 (as shown in factorio-current.log), but I don’t know if this issue is specific to macOS or not.

After looking at this more carefully and reading some other bug reports, this seems to be the same issue as this report and this one, both which include the message “Unit number cannot be zero when comparing entities” in factorio-current.log. I’ll link this thread from the first of those two, since it seems to be the oldest; apologies for the extra noise.
