[0.17.0] Black gameplay screen

Post by rzfszbgly » Tue Feb 26, 2019 11:04 pm

(Sorry for the bad english.)
I have an old integrated Intel video card.
I tried four video settings configurations (All other video settings are set to default):
  1. Video memory usage: High, Texture compression: Low quality
GUI is OK, but all playing area is black.
  2. Video memory usage: Low, Texture compression: Low quality
Playing area mostly black too, only these objects are visible:
    • Player
    • Rocks
    • Cliffs
    • Dead trees (live trees are not visible)
  3. Video memory usage: High, Texture compression: None
    Looks good.
  4. Video memory usage: Low, Texture compression: None
    Looks good.
I attached log files, and screenshots for the first two case.

I am having the same problem. The menus will open and will work but the base terrain will not load. I can move around, mine the rocks/trees, craft things. i was able to place the miner and furnace but they both were not showing any image yet still were intractable.

Thanks for the report.
Fixed for 0.17.2

This is oversight, I used a feature that doesn't work on DirectX 10.0 class hardware.

Since you have only 4 GB RAM, texture compression should be beneficial for you (also for rendering performance)
