[posila][0.16.36] Hard lock while playing multiplayer

In the last week, I have been playing multiplayer Factorio over Steam with 2 to 4 of my friends. During this time, I have had multiple hard locks - the game stops responding and the clients are all disconnected. I do not know what the MoR is, but it is not a frequent bug. The last time it happened, I saved off a crash dump so hopefully that will at least give you the call stack of the presumable deadlock. I have zipped the dump and uploaded to dropbox. Please let me know when you have taken a copy, as I would like to remove it at some point

Reloading the last auto save does NOT reproduce the issue. We just keep on playing and won't see the hard lock again for a few hours.

Thanks for the report and for sharing the dump (you can delete it from your Dropbox)
I could see the main loop is in 8 minute long sleep which is why the game was frozen. As far as I know, this can happen if your system time is changed backwards, so if it happens regularly, it seems to me your clock are running faster than they should and something (maybe Windows itself?) synchronizes it once in a while. Can you confirm this hypothesis?
If that is so, it should be fixed in 0.16.39.

Hm. I can't immediately think of a reason why my time would be changing on a semi-regular basis. I do have a fairly old CPU which may contribute, or it could be something even stranger like the solar panels I have on my roof? Either way, I will see if we still get it in 0.16.39.

We played for three hours tonight without issue on 16.41. It's a good sign, although I would like to give it a few more hours testing to be sure!

The fix caused more problems, so we will revert if for next release and continue on fixing it in 0.17 instead

EDIT: In the end we will keep it for 0.16
