Factorio Won't Star Now Ubuntu 16
I have been playing Factorio fine, but now it won't start, please help. I am on Ubuntu 16.

What do you see when you start it? Do you see the loading screen with progress bar or does it crash before?

Okay, so only one GPU, an Intel IGP. Drivers seem to be installed properly. Is this a multi-monitor setup? What's the output of xrandr? Did something change about your system since Factorio was working the last time?

So does Factorio work if you connect the second monitor again? It detects only one display, then tries to create a window on the second one at a nonsensical position, which then blows up.
Maybe report a bug, your setup looks pretty sane to me. There was already a similar report, but Factorio didn't even manage to enumerate the displays in that case.

Heh, so in case an invalid screen index is specified, Factorio falls back to 1 instead of 0. Tried specifying an out of range index on a multi-monitor system, just got a window on screen 1 (i.e. the second one) all the time. Tried the same on a system with a single display, and yep, that crashes indeed.

In that case preferred-screen-index=1 needs to be changed to 0, deleting the line or config will make it default to 255, which will again result in Factorio attempt to use invalid screen.
