[Twinsen]Serious tearing issues/ Vsync problem

I wasn't quite sure what to call this since I didn't see a vsync option in the graphics settings(I have been known to miss things quite easily though), but I have really bad tearing of the image on the screen. I am running the latest experimental build and I don't run any mods. I have a Radeon 7770 graphics card and this issue happens every time that I launch into a world. Just lots of tearing and its so bad that I can't play the game because it hurts so much.

From the Version: 0.13.12 changelog:
- Vsync will be automatically turned off and hidden from the options menu if desktop composition(windows aero) is on.

This should have not been a problem but for some reason OpenGL uses exclusive full screen.
Working on it.

Can you post a screenshot of the timings when you activate vsync in Catalyst Control Center?
Press F4, select show_time_used_percent and make a screenshot.

Fixed in Version: 0.13.14

The vsync option should now appear in graphics options when using opengl.
Let me know if there are other issues with it turning off or disappearing from the options when you need it.

Issue is quite simple - in d3d mode there is a proper full screen window and it stutters randomly - sometimes really badly.
And game is convinced on debug view that it's running at 60fps, flip times are very low.
Only way to fix this is to actually go to ini file and enable vsync back.

Same issue here on 0.13.13, squiggly tearing running on screen constantly. I'm on Radeon HD7950 with a 1920x1200 screen, refresh rates match everywhere otherwise.

I tried to force VSync in ATI software, but didn't have any effect. I'll go check out the INI configs in case anything there helps.

Edit: INI change helped, so some update reset it to false and hid an option in the options panel?

Where would I go about finding the file to change the vsync manually?

Two workarounds you can try until the new version is released is to run the game with the --force-d3d option.
Other option is to disable desktop composition(disable windows aero)

In both cases the vsync should appear in the graphics settings and work correctly.

Sorry for the late answer.
And making a print screen is a pain in the ass. I had a delay between pressing the button and my comp making an actual printscreen so my first 3 screen was my desktop.

This issue is still present. Or something very similar to it.

Running game on R280X in d3d mode (to get nice full screen window behaviour) still stutters into unplayable mess. Only way around it is to enable vsync in config file which game will promptly disable. Using radeon settings to force vsync is ignored by the game.
I was hoping that fix for this will remove this annoying behaviour. Why would you force the users to have very bad game experience?

The thing is that officially CCC doesn't support newer Radeon cards now. So it's still back to game allowing us to enable vsync or simply not overwriting it with false in config file every time it runs.

As usual ATI drivers are being annoying. We tell the driver to never go in exclusive full-screen and yet it still does.
