*13.6 Chain signal don't update when change by circuit cond.
Consider this example (save attached):
Now do these steps in order:
1) enable the combinator to lock the signal. the chain signal stays green
2) place a train on the marked track. the chain signal turns blue
3) remove the train. the chain signal stays blue
4) disable the combinator to unlock the signal. the chain signal stays blue

Re: [0.13.3] Chain signal doesn't update when path is closed..
I think I have seen this reported before, it is only a visual and not a logic issue afaik.
Re: [0.13.3] Chain signal doesn't update when path is closed..
Visual only or not - it's still very confusing and should probably be fixed, right ?
*[13.6] Chain signal misses circuit condition caused change
the chain signal dont get a red state if the next regular signal is red becouse logic network
(i prefer to connect the chain signal to the network but thats not possible atm)

Re: {0.13.6] Chain signal
I can confirm.
It seems the chain signal does in general not reevaluate its state when the/a signal afterwards changes its state based on circuit condition.
Edit: Merged.

Was about to post the same bug.
Even though the chain signal is green a train will still stop at the chain signal.

I don't follow...vortex1967 wrote:Was about to post the same bug.

Hello Loewchen,
It appears to be a visual bug similar to the bug when chain signals were placed too close to the junction of a curved rail and straight rail(which was fixed). The chain signal would stop trains even though it indicated green.
I was working on a solution to problem involving signals connected to a circuit and a condition being met.
When the signal I was doing the problem solving on turned red the 2 chain signals I had in front of the signal
stayed green.
Under normal conditions(a train turning the signal red) the first chain signal should have turned blue(train had another exit) while the second chain signal should have turned red.
I wanted something from my maintenance train which was parked at my temporary base, so I used the new feature of 0.13 to send the train to me on auto to a train stop which was after the signal I had just turn red.
When the train(the blue one) came to the first chain signal(which indicated green) the train stopped.

Ok, that is the issue we know about.vortex1967 wrote:When the signal I was doing the problem solving on turned red the 2 chain signals I had in front of the signal

That would be a new one, if you hover over the train with the cursor it would show you the direction the train wants to go, maybe it simply wants to take the south route. There is no prioritisation in the pathfinder to take a route not blocked by a signal with circuit condition.vortex1967 wrote: Under normal conditions(a train turning the signal red) the first chain signal should have turned blue(train had another exit) while the second chain signal should have turned red.

If not, I would need the save file.

Re: *13.6 Chain signal don't update when change by circuit cond.
Hello,
It appears that it is a visual bug.
After taking a screenshot for my previous post I saved game and exited.
After reading Loewchen's reply I wanted to do a test in game, so I started Factorio again and the image below is what appeared when the game started.
The chain signals are indicating correctly.
The train stop I set the blue train to go to is at bottom right just past the splitters. The train has to go through the red signal to get to that train stop.

Re: *13.6 Chain signal don't update when change by circuit cond.
This is related plus I'm not sure if it is a bug anyway, if a normal signal is amber and the circuit network tells it to got to red the signals stays on amber which could render the safe rail crossing not effective if it's set up in the wrong place.

It's intended. Hover over the rail signal and read the tooltip.spinba11 wrote:This is related plus I'm not sure if it is a bug anyway, if a normal signal is amber and the circuit network tells it to got to red the signals stays on amber which could render the safe rail crossing not effective if it's set up in the wrong place.

Should be fixed in the next version.
