As stated in the title, if persistent = true is set in working_sound, the sound will disappear and will not be restored after pausing the game. In vanilla, this applies to belts, some robots, and pipes (I haven't tested them).
To repeat, pause the game(in any save) and wait until the sound "fades off" and disappears (if you resume before it completely fades down, nothing will happen). The sound will be restored if all entities disappear from the hearing radius.
The bug was reproduced on 2 PCs with different OS.
I noticed the problem when I ported my mod that puts a lot of such entities and the lack of sound will be very noticeable, I hope you will find time to fix the bug.
