Like normal belts, linked belts can be rotated after placement, but unlike normal belts, fast-replacement does not rotate them.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start a new scenario
2. Place a Linked belt (no need to link it up)
3. Notice that the Linked belt can be rotated
4. Try placing another Linked belt on top
What happens:
Replacing the Linked belt is only possible if the preview shows a different rotation (expected, this also happens with belts), but after the particle effects are created, the Linked belt is still in the original orientation.

Have you considered using flow routers instead of balancers?
