Attached you will find comparison in X11 and Wayland video driver when going to space in the Space age DLC. I am playing with a resolution of 2880x1920 with scaling 175%.
What did you do? Went to space with the Wayland setting on a 3:2 aspect ratio screen. Zoomed out as much as possible.
What happened? You can see the sprites for clouds at the start of launch. In the middle of launch, the space sprites do not cover entirely the screen background, and when transitioning to the space station, they appear suddenly
What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway! As per a 16:9 screen, or simply the X11 comparison: clouds sprites cannot be seen, and the space/black sprites cover the whole screen when transitioning from the planet to the space station
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes? Always happens with Wayland enabled

[2.0.16][Space Age][Wayland] 3:2 screen background not covered when going to space

Thanks for the report.
It's the same issue as 118904
I find it interesting that Linux "video driver" setting affects this in any way
